The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) will hold an event titled “Meditation to Remember the Late King Father” on October 15 in the garden in front of the Royal Palace to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his passing and heroism in life, according to the UYFC outreach team.

According to UYFC spokesperson Tith Chandara, around 2,500 people are expected to attend the event, including UYFC members, monks and members of the public.

He said that on the first day of registration, only about 10% of the expected number had been registered.

Chandara said everyone is welcome to participate in the event, regardless of age, noting that pre-registration would be helpful to the team organizing it.

“The primary reason we organized it is to improve people’s mental health through meditation, but we also pay tribute to the late King Father [Norodom Sihanouk]. We therefore urge participants to register online as well as in person for your convenience,” he said.

Chandara said those interested in registering can do so online at or in person at their office in Phnom Penh.
