TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) received by Cambodia for treatment of COVID-19 patients – Khmer Times

Cambodia has taken delivery of 88,000 boxes of traditional medicine (TCM), Lianhua Qingwen capsules to Cambodia to help treat patients with COVID-19 in the Southeast Asian country.

The TCM was offered by China to Cambodia as an additional resource to fight the raging pandemic.

Lianhua Qingwen capsules, a patented traditional Chinese medicine widely used in China to treat symptoms in patients with COVID-19, were cleared by the Cambodian Ministry of Health for use earlier in the week.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian handed the drug to Cambodian Minister of Health Mam Bunheng at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health in Phnom Penh.

The drug was donated by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce to Cambodia through the Chinese Embassy.

Speaking to reporters at the event, Bunheng expressed his deep thanks to China, saying the drug would help Cambodia fight COVID-19.

“We are very happy to receive this traditional Chinese medicine,” he said. “China’s assistance, including medical experts, medical equipment and supplies, a COVID-19 laboratory and vaccines, is essential for Cambodia to prevent and limit the spread of COVID-19 and take care of health of our people. “
