Kundalini And Healing
I had a profound spontaneous kundalini awakening over 25 years ago and suffered greatly for many years before I learned how to accept and work with it. I have counseled people with kundalini problems for over 15 years and have successfully helped others through my Eastern Healing Arts practice. At Bob's request I would like to share some information that I have learned from my experience in the healing arts.I have realized that in the world of energy healers there are two basic types of healers, energy healers and spiritual healers:
"ENERGY HEALERS" are the ones who work with prana, chi, ki in the chakra/nadi, meridian systems or just generally in the auric field. This group would include prana healers, chi healers, reiki healers etc. Many prana healers view the energy as good or bad, healthy or diseased and proceed to remove the "bad" energy and send in the "good" energy. Most chi healers send chi to strengthen and remove blockages in the meridians. Reiki healers, a sort of offshoot of chi healers, tend to send the "reiki energy" to various areas of the body or use symbols that are supposed to represent different energies. There are many different variations to these three basic approaches to energy healing and when used by skillful practitioners, can be very effective for a wide range of ailments. I realize this is a gross oversimplification of energy healing, however generally speaking it is accurate. Although these prana/chi/reiki energy healing methods are more subtle than electrical and magnetic energy, and appear to be very different in the way that the energy is used, it can be said that they are all a relatively linear approach of using or manipulating energy within the confines of the etheric and sometimes astral body, based on dualistic thinking or relative reality.
This means that whether the results of "energy healing" are going to be helpful or harmful is dependent upon the knowledge and expertise of the healer. If the energy healer cannot clearly see or feel the energy in all the chakras or meridians then they don't really know if the client is balanced or not when they are done with the healing. I have done healing for many energy healers and people who have been to energy healers. I too have found that many energy healers although good intentioned, often create additional problems for their clients especially ones with kundalini symptoms. I had the good fortune to work with a psychiatrist who was researching a book on healers from all over the world. After many of the healers worked on him, I would tell him what the results were in all his major and minor chakras and whether it just energized them, left them out of balance or restored greater harmony in his energy bodies. I would often have to restore harmony after these sessions. I said that I was fortunate to part of this because we both learned a tremendous amount about energy healing and healers.
SPIRITUAL HEALERS are those individuals who have realized some degree of absolute or non-dual reality. The nature of this non-dual reality, referred to by Tibetan Buddhist masters as Buddha Nature, is also often described as pure Being, absolute awareness, love, wisdom, and compassion, and the self illuminating spacious awareness that permeates all things. It is self illuminating or aware because it is not an object of experience and therefore also cannot be manipulated. It is spontaneously present and undifferentiated, which means it is the union of absolute and relative reality. This means one has some degree of understanding or realization of Absolute Truth and an understanding that perceives what is not true i.e., the relative appearance of things. This means the true "spiritual healer" clearly understands the relative appearance of disease or kundalini syndrome and simultaneously understands non-dual reality, the pure nature from which it arises. Healing based on this type of understanding is radically different from the "energy healing" approach.
"Nothing whatsoever is to be removed. Not the slightest thing added. Truly looking at Truth, Truth is seen. When seen, this is complete liberation."
The nature of this pure awareness is harmony. The spiritual healer does not manipulate or move energy, they realize harmony and "see" this harmony in the appearance of the symptoms, the illness and the client. Pure awareness by its nature cannot be manipulated and cannot be misused. The result of true "spiritual healing" is by nature always balanced and harmonious. The chakra/nadis are naturally restored to greater harmony and aligned with their true nature. This type of healing can also work on the more subtle "bodies" and the causal origins of ones suffering. To date, I have not seen any adverse effects from this type of healing with any of my clients, including Kundalini cases.
I caution everyone not to blindly believe everything you read, including this letter, and I also suggest you not blindly disbelieve everything you read or hear. Perhaps it is better to keep an open mind and heart and investigate the Truth for yourselves. So, how do you know if someone is a true spiritual healer and/or an expert energy healer, well you can't really know without being one. However, through careful inquiry and personal referrals you certainly have a better chance of finding someone who can help and not hurt you. I hope this info is helpful.
